Motor Vehicle Lecturer
37 hours per week - Permanent Opportunity
£29,662- £43,662 per annum
42 days per annum plus bank holidays

The Protocol Group is working with a client based in Cambridge who is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Lecturer in Motor Vehicle Studies to join our dynamic Engineering team.

The primary purpose of this job is to; Provide high quality teaching and access to learning in addition to undertaking associated tutorial duties. It is expected that the post holder will contribute to course design, development of programmes, and the expansion of the area generally.

  • Deliver inspirational teaching and access to learning across a range of programmes, and to learners with a range of ages and abilities.
  • Provide teaching and assessment opportunities in line with the relevant awarding body requirements to promote access to achievement.
  • Develop and maintain teaching materials including handouts, assignments, booklists, assessment papers and electronic resources.
  • Prepare Schemes of Work and Schemes of Assessment.
  • Undertake the necessary administrative tasks required for the effective operation of programmes in the area.
  • Carry out moderation/assessment and verification.
  • Work with colleagues to integrate Maths & English into the vocational curriculum.

This teaching role and course is eligible for levelling up premium payments you could qualify to receive an extra payment of up to £6,000 per year, after tax. This payment is separate from teachers’ pay.

You can claim your payment if you are in your first 5 years of teaching in FE, teach at least 2.5 hours per week and meet the full eligibility criteria.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Teaching qualifications are welcomed but not always essential what matters most is your industry expertise and your commitment to helping learners succeed.
  • Relevant and up‑to‑date industry experience within Motor Vehicle or Automotive fields
  • Strong subject knowledge and a minimum Level 3 vocational qualification in Motor Vehicle.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and inspire learners.
